Fundraising
Fairview holds many fundraisers throughout the year.
Our parent group, GEBAS, sponsors
all of our fundraisers. First thing in the fall, we
kick off our two biggest fundraisers: the wrapping paper
and magazine sales. We also have many smaller fundraisers
that run throughout the year where parents earn money
for Fairview by shopping at certain stores and purchasing
certain products. Below are some other ways you can
earn money for our school.
So how much money does GEBAS actually raise, and where does the money go????
Do you ever feel overwhelmed by all the fundraising efforts at Fairview Clifton? You are not alone! But please be assured that there are good reasons for raising funds! Read on for specific details:
The Kroger and IGA shopper rewards have brought Fairview-Clifton about $3,600 this year, which paid for all the classroom publications that teachers requested. These are things like National Geographic Kids, Time for Kids, etc. that the teachers use for lessons and the kids get to take home. Without GEBAS funds, this couldn’t happen.
This year, Fasching and the Holiday Haus together raised over $16,000, which will provide all 40 teachers with $400 next year in “wish list” discretionary funds they can use for their classrooms. Want to know what they bought? Just ask your child’s teacher. The teachers would love to thank you for these funds that you raised for them!
The Fall Magazine Sale raised about $6000 which allowed GEBAS to honor special requests from staff including the purchase of climbing ropes for the gym, 3 new rugs for classrooms and the art room, cleaning of the rugs brought from the old school, a replacement easel for a classroom, the 3rd grade Spellography program and workbooks for each student, and more.
Our school wouldn’t have these things without fundraising. And GEBAS funds provide many more things for our school. I hope this gives you an idea of what your efforts have allowed GEBAS to accomplish this year. Thank you for all of the support you provide! Our school would not be the same without it.

Ways You Can Support Fairview
Box Tops for Education
Collecting Box Tops for Education is an easy way to help Fairview. Please look out for Box Tops coupons with brands such as General Mills, Betty Crocker, Huggies, Juicy Juice, Ziplock, Kleenex, Pillsbury and more. Keep a separate box or envelope in your kitchen so that you can easily toss in the Box Tops you collect. Don't keep them too long - Box Tops do expire, so put them in an envelope or plastic baggie and send them to school with your child. And keep an eye out for extra Bonus Box Tops offers. Several local stores offer opportunities to get 70 or more BONUS Box Tops.
Many thanks to all the Fairview families and friends who contributed Box Tops last year. We had a tremendous response and already have a nice pile growing from all those collected over the summer. Those 10-cent coupons add up quickly, so don't throw them out - send them in to be counted!
Market Day Products
To date, Market Day sales have raised over $3600 for
Fairview, so look for orders forms in your child's
backpack or visit marketday.com
or order directly online. The food is delivered to
school and can be picked up on your way home from
work.

Shop at Keller's IGA on Ludlow Avenue
As last week's Falkenpost stated, Fairview has several fundraising programs during the school year (Kroger, box tops). Another program is the Keller's IGA program: the Clifton grocery store, located on Ludlow Avenue, gives back to the school 1% of purchases made by Fairview parents, relatives, friends, etc... 1% might not seem much but it all adds up quickly! This month, I gave the school a $289 check from Keller's IGA. The 1% does not apply to alcohol and tobacco products.
How the program works: save your receipts from Keller's IGA, no matter how small (in the number of items purchased or the dollar amount); make sure you save the receipts listing the items bought (and not the credit card receipts); keep the receipts flat in an envelope (and not crumbled); it makes tallying so much easier and faster; when you have a bunch, bring them to the office in an envelope marked "Keller's IGA receipts;" I will then tally them and bring them to Keller's IGA; several weeks later, we'll get a check.
Now some possible bad news: Keller's IGA business is down 15%. As a result, they might not be able to continue the program. So, whenever you need a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread, or anything else, please consider patronizing Keller's IGA either before or after you pick up your children or grandchildren or nieces and nephews. Keller's IGA has its own parking lot. It also has a wide variety of food from Awesome local ice cream (Aglamesis, Madisono's, Graeter's, Homemade from UDF) to zingy Zucchinis! Thank you!
